Provenance

According to the owner this bed cover comes from Wallingården in Växbo, Hälsingland. The farmer would have been Lars Persson who had three daughters and several sons. The farmer's wife, Anna Henriksdotter, is supposed to have made a bed cover to each daughter as a dowry.
These three bed covers supposedly still exist:
No. 1 is supposed to be at Wallingården
No. 2 has been inherited from one mother to the next to the current owner
No. 3 is supposed to be at Kämpens hembygdsgård i Bollnäs
The bed cover No. 2: Anna Henriksdotter (born 1733) probably married in 1757 with the sexton, the innkeeper and the parish clerk Hans Altberg (born 1727). She is supposed to have brought this bed cover as a dowry.
