A Baroque late 17th century mirror with the arms of Count Wrede, attributed to Burchard Precht.

Crest with etched decoration with Wrede's crest. Etched glass decor in the frame with flowers. Richly carved frame of acanthus leaves, cornucopia and flowers. Height 195, width 110 cm.

Former Fånö.
Belonged to Fabian Wrede, 1641-1712. Count 1687, introduced in 1689.
The mirror was part of Sophia's, daughter of Fabian Wrede, dowry. She married Erik Axelsson Sparre 1707.

Schlegel, Bernhard, Swedish Castle: Wijk, Stockholm, 1876, under titel 9 Furniture A, describes the lot: Mirror, big, with gilded sculpted frame, in the frame grinded glass with the weapon of Wrede. Belonged to Royal councillor Fabian Wrede. This mirror is mentioned in De la Garda Archive, part. 14, p. 66 and comes from Vårby in Södermanland.
