Bukowskis presents Important Winter Sale, the season’s largest live auction, featuring an outstanding collection of Swedish and international masterpieces from various periods and genres. Highlights from the art department include works like " Sagoflickan" by John Bauer, "Eldsken" by Anders Zorn, and "Barnbarnet" by Carl Larsson. The auction also includes several pieces by Carl Milles and the Paris-featured Bruno Liljefors. Among the international artists are renowned names like Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Lotte Laserstein, and Victor Vasarely. In the graphics department, you will find Andy Warhol's "Three Portraits of Ingrid Bergman by Andy Warhol," alongside other major names like Pablo Picasso, Damien Hirst, and David Hockney.
The furniture and works of art department offers an exciting array of masterpieces, ranging from early Mediterranean cultures to the Swedish golden age of the late 18th century. Highlights include items from the world-famous collections of Emil Hultmark and Carl Kempe, featuring both a Horus Falcon and an extensive collection of gold artefacts. There are also several pieces by Georg Haupt and Gottlieb Iwersson, as well as an exclusive and rare cabinet from 17th-century Paris, during the time of the Sun King, Louis XIV. In the silver department, standout items include the tureen from the Sparre family collection by Simson Ryberg, a double-spouted teapot created by Bengt Hafrin, as well as an exquisite mirror and a gold snuff-box by Christian Precht.
In the carpet, textile, and Islamic works of art section, a rare Khan carpet that once belonged to Soltan Mohammad Khan Mo'in Homayoun Bakhtiari, known as "Sardar Ashja" (the bravest leader), stands out. Other notable items include an antique West Anatolian 'Transylvanian' double-nische carpet and two signed, semi-antique Seirafian carpets. The glass and ceramics section features porcelain designs from Royal Copenhagen such as Flora Danica, as well as exclusive and unique pieces from the famous Blue Fluted series. The auction also includes several elegant pieces of jewellery, including a large collection from Sterlé, and several remarkable items from imperial Russia, including a Fabergé pendant by Alma Pihl with provenance from Emanuel Nobel.
The Asian Sale contains items that span China's rich craftsmanship history. The selection reflects the significant contributions Scandinavian collectors made during the 20th century, with items from renowned collectors such as Gustaf Wallenberg, Emil Hultmark, Eskil Artberg, Karl Wilhelm Gerdhem, Ivan Traugott, Johan Abraham Grill, Stenbeck, Anders Hellström, and many more. The auction includes imperial porcelain, jade, Chinese furniture, Chinese textiles, Chinese paintings, carpets, bronzes and much more.
