A South-German, presumably Nuremberg, Baroque iron and steel strongbox, later part of the 17th century.

Of rectangular form.The front with an applied false lockplate of lions beneath a royal crown. The sides with carrying handles. The lid decorated with grotesques, scroll- and strapwork, the concealed lock covered by a putto with a separate hidden locking mechanism, enclosing a lock shooting twelve bolts and a brass lockplate with engraved decor of flowers and scrollwork overall. On four claw-and-ball feet. Length 27, width 21,5, height 34,5 cm.
