Interest was high when the autumn live season started with the Sivert Oldenvi Collection on September 20th.
The majority of the collection consisted of modern and contemporary art by prominent Swedish artists, including Peter Dahl, Lena Cronqvist, Ola Billgren, and others, but also featured international names such as Per Kirkeby, Jasper Johns, and Willem de Kooning.
Some highlights from the Swedish artists include "Building" by Ulrik Samuelson, with a final price of 234 000 SEK, "The Dance" by Lena Cronqvist, which sold for 780 000 SEK, and "Statue" by Torsten Andersson, which sold for a final price of 650 000 SEK - a new auction record for the artist. "The Vino Tinto Gang" by Peter Dahl became the most expensive piece at the auction, selling for 1 113 000 SEK. Martina Müntzig's work "Wine and Water" exceeded expectations by selling for several times its estimated value.
Torsten Andersson's "Statue" was sold for a final price of 650,000 SEK - a new auction record for a work by the artist.
Among the international objects, we can mention a work by Mimmo Palladino that sold for nearly three times its estimate. Another highlight from the auction was Per Kirkeby's piece "Tavle," which achieved a high final price. Prominent names like Jasper Johns, Willem de Kooning, and Damien Hirst were also represented in the collection.
Art glass highlights included several items by Ann Wolf and Ulrica Hydman-Vallien, which achieved high final prices after lively bidding in the auction room.
