In this spring's auction, we can present an early piece by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, likely from 1948-1949, from her study period at Konstfack in the 1940s. It is a composition in wood, leather, and brass, focusing on the sculptural form, utilizing simple materials.
Kristian Nilsson's jewellery was a strong contrast to functionalism and was rich in materials such as gold and gemstones. He was inspired by the Roman and Baroque eras, where bombastic animal motifs were often used. In the shape of a horse, the brooch in this spring's auction represents his fascination with antiquity and a love for gold and gemstones.
Ibe Dahlquist's radical pursuit of form and her mastery of bronze resulted in modernist necklaces where cascades of bronze engage the viewer. The auction's necklace showcases her innovative exploration of the material.
