The auction for the collection of the surrealist, imaginist and CoBrA member CO Hultén was recently concluded and resulted in a White Glove Sale and a new world record for the artist.
The collection contained over 130 objects from CO Hultén's estate, with works from the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s, many of which have never been shown before. The highlight of the theme auction was "Extas", a gouache on paper dated 1937, which was sold for a final price of 236 000 SEK - a new world record for a work by CO Hultén.
CO Hultén is one of the most important artists after the Second World War, so it was particularly gratifying to see such high final prices and an auction record.
