A self-portrait of Tove Jansson sold for a record price
Helsinki Winter Sale was closed successfully on Sunday evening after competitive bidding. The auction's offer spanned over a century and presented the finest artworks from the late 19th century to today and presented a significant collection of sought-after works of art, antiques and jewellery by Finnish and international artists. Among the auction highlights were a lake landscape by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, a collection of artworks by Tove Jansson and a unique Fabergé brooch designed by Alma Pihl.

› The auction's top number was "Lake landscape" by Akseli Gallen-Kallela, which after intensive bidding in the last minutes, was sold for the final price of 211,429 EUR.
Other important highlights were the sculpture "Lurra-G116" by Eduardo Chillida, which reached a final price of 156 586 EUR, the work "Two Oizo" by Robert Combas that tripled its estimate and sold for 105 514 EUR and a pair of silver candlesticks by Carl Johann Heyne which were sold for EUR 21 800.
