Third day of Important Spring Sale

13 lots exceeding 1MSEK at this Spring's most prominent Fine Art auction

Success for Asian ceramics & Works of Art during day 3

Bukowskis last day of the Fine Art auction Important Spring Sale presented a sensational sale of a Buddha in bronze, "Standing Avalokiteshvara", which was sold at an astonishing final price of SEK 4,716,250 – the most expensive Asian works of art sold this Spring.
– The high final price shows our strength in the international auction market. We are happy about the great trust we have received from our customers and are already looking forward to next season, says Cecilia Nordström, Head Specialist Asian Ceramics & Works of Art.
Bukowskis' extensive Asian department included objects from several private collections, such as Henrik Eugene Reuterswärd's collection, inherited by his daughter Marina Reuterswärd. The collection resulted in a White Glove sale and included the department's most expensive lot sold. Fine Art objects that symbolize the auction's unique range of collectables.
– A fantastic collection that attracted intensive bidding with customers from all over the world! It is also gratifying that the money from the sale goes to a fund in Marina Reuterswärd's name, which will be donated to the Swedish Kennel Club with the purpose to finance veterinary research, says Carl Barkman, Head Specialist Fine art & antiques.
Additional highlights during the last day of the auction included a ceramic junglazed bowl, Yuan Dynasty, which sold for SEK 453,250, an album in the style of Wen Zhengming (1470–1559), Qing Dynasty, which was sold for SEK 404,250, and a Bodhisattva, in bronze, Ming Dynasty (mid-15th century), reached a final price of SEK 514,500. Fine examples from an Asian catalogue filled with high-quality works of art, carefully hand-picked and selected by Bukowskis' specialists.
– A historically successful auction! Bukowskis presented several sought-after objects and prestigious collections with interesting provenances, which is always attractive to collectors, says Björn Extergren, Head of Consignments & Sales Fine Art Stockholm.
