Important Spring Sale – Cecilia Andrén lists favourites from the jewellery department in the upcoming auction

Specialists choice Cecilia Andrén

We have spoken with Cecilia Andrén, Specialist Jewellery, who talks about the selection at this spring's Important Spring Sale. She also takes the opportunity to list some of her favourite objects among the substantial selection in this spring's auction.

What can we look forward to in this spring's Important Spring Sale auction?
Jewellery is finally beginning to be considered an art form, noticeable in rising prices in recent years. Some of the highlights are classic Monete jewellery from Bulgari, beside some unusual Hemmeele jewellery.

At the same time, there is also a wide range of classic jewellery with beautiful stones alongside designer jewellery from Cartier, Hermes and Gaudy to name a few.

Feel free to look through our web catalogue and do not hesitate to stop by for a viewing. You can also email or call me, and we will find a time that suits you. Welcome!

Bulgari Monete

At the upcoming auction, we will, among other things, present a real classic from Bulgari; a gold necklace with an antique coin from the company's legendary collection Monete.
Bulgari started to produce the Monete collection in the 1960s, and in the 1980s, the collection came to be the trendiest one could wear. During this time, Andy Warhol claimed in an interview that the only art museums he has visited were Bulgari shops! From Jane Fonda to Elizabeth Taylor, everyone wore jewellery from the Monete collection and over the past year, the prices of these pieces of jewellery have skyrocketed at auctions around the world.

Hemmerle Lava cameo earrings

Another auction highlight is the fantastic jewellery from the long-established German company Hemmerle. They work with the same vision as Bulgari does for the Monete collection, creating hypermodern jewellery with antique elements.
You rarely see these pieces of jewellery in Sweden, so we are thrilled to be able to present a pair of magnificent contemporary Hemmerle earrings with antique cameos at the spring auction. Hemmerle is constantly pushing the boundaries of what a piece of jewellery can be and experimenting with different materials that you do not usually meet in the classical tradition in which they operate. The frames around the beautiful 19th-century cameos are made of copper, an unorthodox material in this context beautiful together with the soft brown diamonds and the fine cameos. Hemmerle has a small production, and their jewellery rarely comes on the second-hand market.

A classic favorite Gold and silver brooch with old cut diamonds

The best thing about auctions is that in addition to more modern jewellery, you can also buy antique jewellery! We have several older brooches, including a classic flower twig from the early 19th century with charming old-cut diamonds set in period-typical silver settings.
