All three designers are considered the most accomplished furniture creators of the fifties and they have become a synonym with the French modernistic movement along with Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier, Jean Royère, Jacques Adnet and more. Charlotte Perriand and Jean Prouvé collaborated on several projects and the duo has made some of the most sought-after furniture in our time, for instance the daybed ”Scal No. 450 Antony” which is included in this spring’s auction.
Besides a fantastic category of furniture we can present a a wide range of ceramics by different artists. The Danish designer Axel Salto has made a handfull included in Modern Art + Design, all with a playful yet elegant expression. Salto was one of his time’s most experimental and versatile culture personalities and contributed to introduce modern art in Denmark. Bukowskis can also present a large range of magnificent vases by Berndt Friberg, a unique large scale bitter orange by Hans Hedberg and last but not least, a large number of unusually fine ceramics by Pablo Picasso executed in Madoura, Vallauris, France in the middle of the 20th century.
