Artist

Claës Giertta was a Swedish baron, silversmith, sculptor, and designer. She was educated at Konstfack, and was given several different interior design projects from companies such as SEB and Volvo, as well as different hotels and restaurants. But he also completed a series of commissions for both ecclesiastical and secular settings. Together with Margit Sahlin, he designed the ordination cross for the first female priest ordination in 1960. Giertta is also known for having designed the Grammis plaque, the major award in the music industry, from 1969 to 2007. He is represented at the National Museum.
