Lena Svedberg ifrågasatte sin samtids politiska förhållanden. Hon var en del av sextiotalets konstnärliga experimentlusta och avantgardism som under 1970-talet övergick till det mer politiskt radikala. Svedberg tecknade sina provokationer skickligt. Hon förde fram budskap om mänsklig rättvisa och frihet. Groteskt uppblåsta men sönderfallande kroppar. En reaktion på världens orättvisor i allmänhet - i synnerhet Mellanöstern som en lokal spelplats för politik, ekonomi och religion. Då liksom nu pågår en strid om olja, makt och finanser.
