”The Master of Game” is the oldest English book on hunting, written between 1406 and 1413 by Edward III's grandson, Edward, Duke of York. The majority of the text is a translation of the book "La Chasse" (1387-1391) by Gaston de Foix. This modern rendering has been taken from the best of the existing 19 manuscripts in the British Museum.
