The Swedish sculptor Anders Sandström is primarily known for his depiction of animals. Sandström was not only a sculptor but also an author and a former diplomat. As an official for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, he had an international career. He has undertaken various nature expeditions and studied and at times lived with different indigenous peoples. Sandström has exhibited at state and private cultural institutions in, among others, the USA, Argentina, Tunisia, Cuba, and Ecuador. He has had several solo exhibitions at cultural institutions in Sweden, including at Waldemarsudde and the Swedish Museum of Natural History. Public works include "The Aurochs" in Havana's UNESCO-protected cultural centre and the sculpture "Playing Sea Lions" in Örsundsbro, Enköping.
