Designer

Sigrid Wickström-Paaer (1885–1923) was a Finnish ceramics and textile artist. In the early 1900s, she created ceramic and leather objects and designed textiles for the Finnish Friends of Handicraft. Wickström studied at the University of Art and Design from 1902 to 1904, and her teacher, W.A. Finch, considered her exceptionally talented.
After graduating, she continued her studies in Düsseldorf from 1905 to 1907 and further developed her skills in various parts of Europe. In 1914, she married the artist Germund Paaer, after which she used the artist name Siru Wirva.
