Arvid Mauritz Lindström, along with his wife Countess Helene von Götz, lived with their children at Engelsberg from 1889 to 1913. He had Villa Hvilan built, which was designed by the renowned architect Isak Gustaf Clason. Eventually, he also had the current Systerbo constructed. Lindström is one of Sweden's most famous landscape painters and a close friend of Carl Larsson.
