Literature

In the early 1960s, Timo Sarpaneva created an experimental series of colored drinking glasses called 'Liekkiraita' at the factory. He utilized a unique method to create a lighter rim on the colored glass by heating the glass and stretching it from the middle. Despite its impressive design and simplicity, this method was unsuitable for industrial production as the glass was prone to breaking. However, in 1963, Sarpaneva used this method to develop one of his finest glassware pieces, the 'Ripple'. The Ripple glassware collection includes two types of drinking glasses, serving and dessert bowls, and jugs. It is a timeless masterpiece that complements any style. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the "Ripple" glassware is a part of the New York Museum of Modern Art's collection.
