Stoneware with green-brown glaze. Decoration of buildings in Gothenburg with the initials for the firm Fritz Viktor Hasselblad & Co, as well as the years 1841-1941 and the date 15/5 1941. The urn is stamped, and signed by the decorative painter Olson. Height 27 cm.
Glaze spots. Minor stains.
Fritz Viktor Hasselblad & Co launched the Hasselblad camera in 1948, which became world famous.
Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramicist, designer and sculptor. Gunnar Nylund was active for periods at Bing & Grøndahl, for a few years had his own workshop, Saxbo stentøj, and worked at Nymølle ceramic factory in Denmark. For most of his working life he lived in Sweden and was employed at Rörstrand porcelain factory 1931-59 where he was also assigned the role of artistic director. He has become known for his many different animal sculptures in stoneware, but he also made lots of vases, bowls, lamp bases, etc., as well as tableware and other utensils. Nylund also designed glass for Strömbergshyttan.
