The Flora scarf pattern was originally launched by Gucci in 1966. The story is that Rudolfo Gucci comissioned the pattern from the illustrator Vittorio Accornero for Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, after she had requested a floral scarf.
Gucci is an Italien fashion house founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci in Florence, Italy. It is now one of the greatest fashion houses in the world. Gucci is most notably known for its exclusive handbags and their fabulous clothes, both haute couture and prêt-à-porter, but the fashion brand also makes products and various other items. In the 1940s the company created their famous "Bamboo bag", which continues to be a classic up until today. Their monogram with to intertwined Gs is a classic and is embellished on most of their bags. It wasn't until the 1970s when Gucci began to make clothing. With Tom Ford as a leading designer in the 1990s, Gucci's collections became increasingly popular. With stars such as Grace Kelly, Peter Sellers, and Audrey Hepburn all having worn iconic Gucci looks.
