A footed silver and glass bowl, maker's mark of Johan Viktor Aarne, Vyborg 1917.
Cut glass bowl raised on a silver stem and base. The stem decorated with palmette, engraved with a monogram and the date 1858-1918 and a Roman I. Marked JVA for Johan Viktor Aarne.
Diameter 22.5 cm, height 26 cm.

Johan Viktor Aarne, born in Tampere in 1863, journeyman in Hämeenlinna in 1880, master in 1890. For two long periods of his life, Viktor Aarne worked in St Petersburg and is widely known for his guilloché enamel works for Fabergé. In 1904, he settled in Viborg and opened his own shop there.
