More information

Timo Sarpaneva collected a collection of antique wooden sculptures in the 1960s and 1970s. The works were mainly acquired from Dr Rosenbaum's antique shop, which was in the centre of Ascona. The nature of the wooden sculptures was rough and lush, as was the style of Sarpaneva's own glass works during these decades. The Baroque abundance of woodcarvings formed surprising and interesting details in the modern and cool interiors of Sarpaneva's various homes.
