Osvald Almqvist (1884-1950)

Osvald Almqvist was a pioneering Swedish architect during the breakthrough of functionalism in the late 1920s. At the time, he was the responsible architect for many power plant constructions, but he also developed innovative ideas for modern Swedish standardised kitchens. Almqvist was later in charge of the Stockholm Parks Department between 1936 and 1938 and planned for Fredhällsparken and Rålambshovsparken, both located on Kungsholmen.
