Tomas Lundgren, born in 1985, lives and works in Gothenburg. Lundgren paints in oil in shades of grey and often uses old forgotten archive photographs as a basis.
Lundgren is educated at the Valand Academy in Gothenburg, where he graduated in 2013. He has received several grants, including the Fredrik Roos Scholarship in 2014, the Beckers Artist Grant in 2016, and from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee. Lundgren has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, including at Röda Sten Konsthall, Moderna Museet in Malmö, and Dalslands Konstmuseum. He is represented in private and public collections, including the Gothenburg Museum of Art, Moderna Museet in Stockholm, and the Swedish Arts Council.
At Göteborgs Konsthall, Lundgren participated in the exhibition With New Eyes – The Interwar Period Through the Lens, 11 December 2021 – 27 March 2022.
