A Set of Six Swedish Sterling Silver Beakers, mark of Atelier Borgila, Stockholm 1978

With hammered decoration. Engraved under Magnus 17.1.-1.4. 1978 Berns Salonger AB. Height 7.5, diameter 5.7 cm. Total weight 658 grams. Original box 40 x 10, height 7 cm.

Minor wear. The general impression is good.

Provenance

The actor and comedian Magnus Härenstam (1941-2015).
The cups were a gift from the management at Berns Salonger in connection with the premiere of Magnus & Brasse's show classic 'Det är serverat' in 1978. The dates at the bottom of the cups refers to the performance period at Berns from January 17 to April 1.

Designer

Atelier Borgila was founded by Erik Fleming in 1921. The firm quickly established a solid clientele, and its work was characterized by high quality combined with a stylish elegance. The firm was taken over in 1959 by his son Lars Fleming, who successfully continued the workshop and company until 2005 when the firm was sold to the silversmith Henrik Ingemansson
