Japanese Works of Art F500

Japanese art has long fascinated collectors and artists worldwide. In our exclusive themed auction, Japanese Works of Art, Bukowskis has handpicked objects from the Edo period through to the 20th century. In this edition, we are also pleased to present items with provenance from Eskil Artberg (1886–1974), co-founder of the legendary antique shop Japanska Magasinet. The shop, which opened in 1909 in the heart of Stockholm, quickly became iconic thanks to Eskil and his brother John Artberg (1878–1933). Many renowned Swedish artists, such as Einar Jolin and Albert Engström, were their frequent customers. Several of our most respected Swedish institutions also acquired items from Japanska Magasinet, which are now part of their prestigious collections. Explore a selection of art, interior pieces, and collectibles of the highest quality – there's something here for both collectors and decorators.

Consignment is now open for our upcoming live auction, Important Winter Sale, on 11–13 December.
