A Japanese satsuma ware vase, Meiji (1868-1912).
Baluster shape, a high rounded shoulder with a short tapering neck and a flared rim. Decorated with a pond with irises in a deep cloudy blue enamel and gilding on a clear crackled glaze ground. Signed under a gosu blue mon. Height 31 cm.
Chip to the rim. Minor chip to footrim.
