Pak No-Soo is considered one of Korea's most prominent artists, born in 1927 and a disciple to Yi Sang-bom. He developed his own style that was influenced by art from both the West and the East. In the 1950s he was described by a reviewer '...more intellectual than sensual, more contemplative than passionate. He is neither an adventurous man nor a man who gets himself involved in events, but rather he looks at and contemplates things and events. This is evidenced in his work which is full of intellectual severity and in his prudent technique. The most remarkable feature of his work is his peculiar way of treating blank space...". The Municipal Pak No-Su Art Museum/Jongno Art Museum is placed in the artists former home, in the house where he lived for almost forty years.
