Goldin+Senneby, "Money Will Be Like Dross"

Instruction box in wood, paper, documents. Executed in 2012. Box dimensions: length 81 cm, width 71.5 cm, height 32 cm.

The instruction includes a 3D model and a detailed instruction of how to make replicas of the August Nordenskiöld alchemy furnace, and a contract stating that the artists will sign each new furnace made during the lifetime of both artists together. The furnaces made from the instructions are not numbered. Each instruction is numbered although the edition is unlimited.

This is the second instuction sold. The third edition is part of the collections of Centre Pompidou in Paris after a donation from Thea Westreich & Ethan Wagner.

Goldin+Senneby is a Swedish artist duo formed in 2004, consisting of Simon Goldin and Jakob Senneby. Based in Stockholm, they studied at the Royal Institute of Art in 2004 and 2007. The duo is interested in the mechanisms of financial markets and exposes shady activities in the daylight through their artworks. They held their first solo exhibition in 2008 with "Goldin+Senneby: Headless" at The Power Plant in Toronto, Canada. They have also had solo exhibitions at Kadist Art Foundation, Paris (2010); Index, Stockholm (2008); and The Power Plant, Toronto (2008). The duo has participated in group exhibitions at Nottingham Contemporary, Nottingham (2010); the 28th Bienal de São Paulo, São Paulo (2008); and GAMeC, Bergamo (2008).
