Wiwen Nilsson, silver bracelet with polished lapis lazuli and step-cut rock crystal, Lund 1948

The setting measures 63x12.3x10.3 mm, the central rock crystal is slightly higher than the other two, opening with a retractable locking mechanism, the bracelet's width is 6.1 mm, inner diameter approximately 17.3 cm, weight about 40.2 grams

A quartz crystal with a very small chip on the facet edge towards the table. The central quartz crystal with two edge chips visible to the eye, one extending from the edge halfway into the table's facet, the other chip from the edge up onto the table's facet. Scratches. One side of the setting with a stain.

Designer

Wiwen Nilsson was a Swedish designer born in Copenhagen. He studied at his father's workshop, as well as in Germany, Denmark, and France. Nilsson is primarily known for his objects created in silver with geometric, clean, and austere forms. Nilsson debuted at the Gothenburg Exhibition in 1923. At the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, he had his major breakthrough, and his innovative modernism was a success. Nilsson created, among other things, jewellery, table silver, and services.
