A mid-18th-century sterling silver tureen, mark of Peter Archambo II and Peter Meure, London 1753.

Oval shaped tureen raised on curved feet with shell-shaped attachments, lid with a finial in the form of a family crest. The body engraved with a crest and a cartouche for Edward Seymour, the 8th Duke of Somerset.
Length 36.5 cm handles included . Weight 3063 grams.

One handle more outwardly curved, the other with a minor rupture. The general impression is very good.
