A trompe l'oeil parcel-gilt silver casket, maker's mark of Petr Loskutov, Moscow, Russia 1893.
Cigar box with fringed cloth cover and basket weave simulating body, two gilded spiral bands, gilt bottom and interior. Raised on four bun feet.
Length 17 cm, width ca. 11 cm, height ca. 8.7 cm. Weight 545 g.
Stamped on the bottom, on the inside and outside of the cover and on the front edge. Assay master Alexander Smirnov, Moscow 1893, silver standard mark 84.
The gilding on the exterior is worn. A minor and an insignificant dent in the base corners. One posterior foot slightly indented.
