The Åvik glass factory was in operation in Somero, Häme between 1748 and 1833. The factory produced window glass, household glass and bottles in green, brown and clear glass. As a speciality, white opaque bone glass was produced to imitate the much more expensive porcelain and blue glass was produced using cobalt oxide.
