In 1912 Allan Helenius, the station manager of the Kangas station, established an art forge near by the Kangas station 'for manufacturing of artistic electric lights'. The most important customers for Allan Helenius were architects such as Walter Jung and Ivar Thomé. In addition to lighting fixtures, the forge manufactured iron lattice fences and gates. Demand for luminaires grew rapidly, and soon the company produced up to 40 light fixtures a day. Allan Helenius forge manufactured lighting and metal decoration work for Oulu Elementry School and various bank interiors. Due to the shortage of raw materials caused by World War I the forge closed down three years after its establishment.
Wear due to age and use. Minor damages. Later rewired. Electrical function not tested.
