Axel Larsson was a prominent Swedish furniture architect with a career that spanned more than 50 years. At the age of 25, he was employed by Svenska Möbelfabrikerna in Bodafors at the Stockholm office, where he worked for three decades. Larsson made his big debut at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, where he presented his first furniture series. This series distinguished itself by combining modernism with Swedish traditions. Between the years 1956-1975, Larsson ran his own business while continuing to work for Svenska Möbelfabrikerna in Bodafors. In addition to having designed countless pieces of furniture, he carried out many significant interior design assignments. These include the Gothenburg Concert Hall, the Park Avenue Hotel in Gothenburg and the Folksamhuset at Skanstull in Stockholm.
