Timo Sarpaneva
Timo Sarpaneva, an art object from the Heal's series, signed Timo Sarpaneva - Iittala.

In 1969 a selection Timo Sarpaneva’s objects where exhibited at Heal’s design department in London. The exhibition presented a wide selection of his designs, everything from everyday objects to artworks. In the beginning of the 1980s master blower Reino Löflund called Sarpaneva and asked him to immediately come to the Iittala warehouse. The warehouse needed more space and as a consequence many of Sarpaneva’s unique artworks were being destroyed. Sarpaneva managed to save some of his works, including a selection of the objects which had been exhibited at Heal’s in 1969. Approximately 600 objects were destroyed.
