A Japanese wakizashi short sabre, Meiji period (1868-1912).
The saya (scabbard) is lacquered, the tsuka (hilt) is covered in same (rayskin) with brown silk tsukamaki wrapping and has two metal hilt grips. Nice tsuba (hand guard) with decoration in relief. Lenght 54 cm.
Later insribed soc sec no to copper placque by hilt. Loose grip. Wear. Damages.
