The door handles come from Savonlinna Seurahuone, which architects Kai Blomstedt and Birger Stenbäck were commissioned to design in the late 1950s after the previous Seurahuone was destroyed in a fire. When they were commissioned, Blomstedt and Stenbäck already had a successful architectural practice with a long history in the SOK's building department and Erkki Huttunen's office, which was known for its cooperative functionalism.
Today the building is Sokos Hotels.
