An armchair, probably Italian, 19th c, belonged to Queen Victoria, Solliden, the embroidery by King Gustav V.

Painted in walnut imitation. Marked with Queen Viktoria's owner's stamp "V" under crown, as well as with Gustav V's stamp indistinct marked "Solliden", no. 181. With the owner stamp of Gustav VI Adolf on paper label. Labeled in Swedish translated to English: "No 184 The embroidery on this chair is made by KING GUSTAF V in 1925". Height 90 cm, width 51 cm, seat height circa 40 cm.

Sid 28: "Sittmöbeln - i italiensk empir - i detta rum hade ett stort affektionsvärde för drottningen. Klädseln - vävnad i en blandning av linne och silke - är nämligen helt och hållet ett verk av gemålens textilt konstförfarna hand. Originellt nog är det emellertid varierande mönster på varje möbeldel".
