More information

Colour and texture lie at the core of Pauno Pohjolainen’s powerful expression. The natural blending of hard and soft is based on the artist’s mastery and profound appreciation for the properties of wood as the material closest to his heart. Pohjolainen is best known for a range of works including several public sculptures. He was distinguished with an Ars Fennica award in 1997.

For the sculpture "Crownhead" the artist has found his inspiration from the powerful paintings by Reidar Särestöniemi.
