Pierced gallery brim, an engraved pair of lions and leaf ornaments by the handles. Length 60 cm, width 36.4 cm. Weight ca. 1980 g.
Marked: Petman, 84, Saint Petersburg town mark 1811, assay master mark Aleksandr Yashikov, alderman zig-zag line.

In the book "St. Petersburgs Juvelerare och Guld- och Silversmeder 1714-1870", publisher Konstsalongens förlag, Helsinki 1951, page 131, L. Bäcksbacka tells us about the Finnish born silversmith as follows (free translation from Swedish):
"Henrik Petman 1805-1818 (-) Born at Pernå. Son of Samuel Petman. Apprenticed with Henrik Petman in Vyborg, master's assistant 1790... Master in Saint Petersburg in 1805, silver worker and guild-brother in the foreign silversmiths guild. Worked for the Court office. Died in 1818, April 2nd.
Works: 1811 tabletop tray for the Imperial yacht, 1811 oval tabletop tray, the Winter Palace, 1814 coffee pot, Anichkov Palace ...."
