A K Dolven is one of Norway’s best-known contemporary artists, with a versatile approach that includes using video, painting, photography, installation and film techniques. The thematic focus of her works is often the conflicts that emerge between culture and nature, and the status of women and certain ethnic groups. Their mood typically finds its bearings in the scenery of northern Europe. Works by this artist have been included in several major international collections and displayed in notable public galleries, including Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki. Born in Oslo, Dolven now divides her living and working time between London and the Lofoten Islands in northern Norway.
