Johanna Lecklin (born 1972)
The work “There is a lot of joy, too” is part of a series by the same name and was first shown at Galleri Heino in 2005.
Out of the personal and everyday, Lecklin creates something universal that transcends borders and limitations, leaving space for the viewer's own feelings and interpretations. The contrast and co-existence of the dark and the light sides of life is a recurring theme in Lecklin's work; the initial impression might be one of loveliness but behind it lurks a frightening, elusive dimension laced with anguish.
