Signe Persson-Melin – Shaping a life

Signe Persson-Melin – Shaping a life

The infinite variations that can describe Signe Persson-Melin's craftmanship are as endless as the forms her objects have taken. As one of Sweden's greatest ceramic and glass designers, with a career spanning more than 60 years, she mastered a variety of materials and forms.

Persson-Melin has designed a multitude of items made for everyday use, all characterised by her tasteful balance of form and function. Her objects are extremely well balanced and emerged out of the geometric primordial forms. She truly let everything take its time and gave the process its space. Her unique objects interplay between delicate craftsmanship and personal aesthetics where nothing is left to chance. Today, Signe Persson-Melin is remembered as an icon within the Swedish ceramics and glass scene.

Bukowskis has been entrusted to sell this very personal themed auction presenting all sorts of items from Persson-Melin's beautiful home. Samples, personal objects, gifts from friends and other artists, all in a blissful but structured mix.
