With over 450 woodcuts in text (incl. repetitions), and two woodcut printer’s devices. The illustrations are almost all printed from the same blocks as the first, latin edition.

A beautiful, wide-margined copy in near-contemporary Italian full vellum, leather letterpiece on spine. Leaf 179 with a minute hole affecting no more than two letters on each page. Provenance: Gustaf Bernström, whose books were always the finest copies available.

Collijn, 2, p. 330-2. Second Italian edition, the first complete and illustrated. The engraved map faithfully reproduces the woodcut map in the Latin edition of 1555.
