Recent half black morocco, green sides, spine of the original 19th-century binding expertly applied. Very fine internally, title however slightly finger-soiled and with faint traces of an erased inscription, verso of final plate also a little soiled. 26 of the plates with captions or page numbers neatly written in ink in lower margin.

Second edition of Ehrensvärd's famous and beautiful account of his journey to Italy, with impressions from the original plates. First published in a very small edition for presentation in 1786.
