The bookends are made in Sekigahara city (Gifu Prefecture) from marble. Formed over millions of years, marble is a result of heat and pressure exerted by geological forces on minerals and organic matter. The history of the planet is embedded in natural stone. The 15 cm length takes roughly one hour to cut and is polished by hand.
Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architecture and design studio founded in 1995 by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto, and Ola Rune.
