The vase is made in Hizen Yoshida ware porcelain from Ureshino city (Saga Prefecture). The clear whiteness of the Amakusa pottery stone can be utilized to make unglazed wares, such as this vase, as it possesses the rare quality of not requiring mixing with other ingredients to produce porcelain.
