Sven Hansson var en bildkonstnär och grafiker som studerat på Valands konstskola i Göteborg samt för André Lhote i Paris. Han arbetade i gouache, olja samt relief i en konkret, geometrisk, nonfigurativ stil. Hansson var hyllad av kritikerna, fick ett stort antal stora stipendier och hade många utställningar inte bara i Sverige, utan också i Danmark, Frankrike, Tyskland och Spanien.
Representerad på Moderna Museet och Nationalmuseum i Stockholm, Göteborgs Konstmuseum samt på flera institutioner runt om i Sverige.
