Hermèsscarves

Hermès was founded in 1837 by Thierry Hermès and has soon existed for two centuries. The fashion house quickly became iconic in France and the rest of the world and is associated with luxury. Hermès silk scarves have long been set as a gift of love. The first silk shawl to produce the title Jeu des Omnibus et Dames Blanches and was designed by Hugo Grykar. He also composed the best-selling shawl in Hermès' history, Brides de Gala from 1957. Bukowskis often presents this shawl in various colour schemes.

Hermès has created over 1500 different scarf patterns, and each model is available in different colour combinations selected from over 75,000 colours. The most sophisticated scarf, A Vos Crayons comes in 46 different shades. The colours are applied one at a time, with the darkest colour first to finish with the lightest shade in a thorough and long-horned process. It takes 20 designers, and it takes about 9-10 months for a pattern to be created and approved and then further colour tested for three months. The whole process, from concept to the final hand-sewn details, takes about two years.
